International Summer School in Bakuriani
Political Economy in Times of Global Financial Crisis

11-19 July, 2009

Free University organized another International Summer School (ISS) in July. Five invited professors from Paul Cezanne, George Mason, Georgia/ West Virginia,  Marburg Universities and CATO Institute delivered lectures for the participants of the ISS.

Pierre Garello - Director of the Institute for Economic Studies-Europe and director of Research for the Institute for Research on Economic and Fiscal Issues (IREF), professor of economics at Paul Cezanne University in Aix-en-Provence, France, holds PhD in Economics from New-York University.

Donald Boudreaux - Chairman of Department of Economics at George Mason University. He holds PhD in Economics from Auburn University and PhD in Law from University of Virginia.

Andrei Ilarionov  - a senior fellow at the Cato Institute's Centre for Global Liberty and Prosperity.  From 2000 to December 2005 was the chief economic adviser of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Tuition Fee Attention!

For students and researchers only 300 GEL (16% of the total Fee)

For other participants only 450 GEL (24% of total Fee) 

 

Funding

Our general sponsor “Knowledge Fund” offers each participant a grant in the amount of 945 GEL, which is 50% of the total fee.

Other partners of the project (with whom the negotiations are currently underway) offer the participants different grants, which will reduce the participation fee for students and researchers to 300 GEL and for other participants to 450 GEL.

In addition, “Knowledge Fund” is ready to offer 100% funding to those participants, who are eager to participate in the project but can not afford to cover the Tuition Fee. In order to obtain 100% funding, participant should send additional letter explaining need of the 100% funding to iss09@freeuni.edu.ge

 

Total Fee

1890 GEL covers:
  • Transportation of professors to Georgia and their honoraria
  • Accommodation of participants and professors in comfortable hotel “EURIKA” for 8 days
  • Reading and other study materials
  • Transportation of participants and professors (Tbilisi-Bakuriani-Tbilisi)
