History

Free University of Tbilisi was founded in 2007 through the merger of two most ranked high educational institutions – ESM Tbilisi and Tbilisi Institute of Asia and Africa.

Since 2007 Free University of Tbilisi has opened two new schools: Law School and School of Computer Science and Mathematics (MACS). University building of international standards has been built and educational environment has been completely updated.

In summer and winter Free University holds short-term educational-scientific seminars - so called International Summer and Winter Schools, where lections are delivered by world’s best scientists and researchers. Public lectures delivered by famous scientists have become a tradition at Free University.
