თბილისის თავისუფალი უნივერსიტეტის სოციალური და საბუნებისმეტყველო მეცნიერებების სამაგისტრო და სადოქტორო სკოლის დეკანია. ასევე, ანთროპოლოგიის პროფესორია.
მან სადოქტორო ხარისხი ანთროპოლოგიაში მოიპოვა ვაშინგტონის უნივერსიტეტში (სენტ ლუისი) 2014 წელს. ამავე უნივერსიტეტიდან აქვს სამაგისტრო ხარისხი.
2006-2007 წლებში სწავლობდა ანთროპოლოგიას ოქსფორდის ბრუქსის უნივერსიტეტში, ხოლო 2004 წელს მოიპოვა ფსიქოლოგიის ბაკალავრის ხარისხი თბილისის ივანე ჯავახიშვილის სახელობის სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტში.
დოქტორანტურის შემდეგ რამდენიმე კვლევითი ვიზიტითა და სტიპენდიით იმყოფებოდა, უფსალას უნივერსიტეტში, ვაშინგტონის უნივერსიტეტში, ოქსფორდის უნივერსიტეტში, მათ შორის, გლობალური კვლევების ინსტიტუტსა და ნიზამი განჯავის ინსტიტუტში.
იყო ოქსფორდის უნივერსიტეტის აღმოსავლეთმცოდნეობის აფილირებული მკვლევარი.
მისი პირველი წიგნი The Bivocal Nation: Memory and Identity on the Edge of Empire, 2018 წელს გამოსცა პალგრეივ მაკმილანის გამომცემლობამ. მისი მეორე წიგნის The Anthropology of Anxiety in a Small Country გამოცემა 2024 წელს იგეგმება პენსილვანიის უნივერსიტეტის გამომცემლობის მიერ (University of Pennsylvania Press).
