ჩვენ მათ ყოველდღე ვიყენებთ. ვერიდებით მათ სიყვითლეს. გვაწუხებს მათი უცაბედი გაჩერებები. ჩვენ მათ იმდენად მივეჩვიეთ, რომ ვეღარც კი ვამჩნევთ. ჩვენ, რა თქმა უნდა, მარშრუტკებზე ვსაუბრობთ.
კურსის ფარგლებში, რომლის მიზანიც იყო ვიზუალური ხელოვნებისა და კვლევის გაერთიანება, თავისუფალი უნივერსიტეტის ვიზუალური ხელოვნების, არქიტექტურისა და დიზაინის სტუდენტები სემესტრის განმავლობაში შეისწავლიდნენ ამ უნიკალურ ტრანსპორტს.
ნამუშევრები წარმოადგენს კვლევას იმ სივრცეების, ინფრასტრუქტურისა და რიტულაების, რომლებიც პირდაპირ კავშირშია მარშრუტკის ფენომენთან. თუ როგორ გვეხმარება ტრანსპორტირების ეს საშუალება უკეთ გავიგოთ ჩვენი საზოგადოების სოციალურობისა და ინტიმურობის საკითხი. ჩვენ მარშრუტკას აღვიქვამთ როგორც გადაადგილების საშუალებას, რომელიც მყარადაა ჩაბეჭდილი ჩვენ ისტორიაში, ადგილებსა და ქცევაში. მისი ფორმალიზაცია, კი, ქალაქის სოციო-პოლიტკურ სივრცეში არსებულ ფართო წნეხზე მიუთითებს. ჩვენ ვიყურებით ტექნიკურობის და ლოჯისტიკის მიღმა, რომ დავაკვირდეთ ტრანსფორმაციას, გადაადგილებასა და კულტურულ გამოცდილებებს.

We use them every-day. We dodge their yellow streaks. We curse their abrupt turns and stops. We even take them for granted to the point of invisibility. We are talking, of course, about the Marshruthka.
In a course that looked to merge art/design practice and research, students in the Visual Art, Architecture, and Design School of Free University have spent the semester studying the cultural technology of this unique form of mobility.
Guiding our work is the question: What are the spaces, infrastructures, rituals, and materialites of the Marshrutka, and how do they help us detect patters of sociability, intimacy, and belonging? We understand the marshrutka as a medium of mobility particularly embedded in histories, places, and practices, even as its formalization points to broader tensions within the social and political space of the city. Through this project, we look beyond the technical and logistical to uncover a narrative of transformation, (im)mobility, and cultural practice.
