ზურაბ გუგუჩიას სამეცნიერო ვორქშოფი ჩატარდა კამპუსში

ფიზიკის სტუდენტთა საერთაშორისო კონფერენციის (ICPS 2024) ფარგლებში 5 აგვისტოს კახა ბენდუქიძის კამპუსში ზურაბ გუგუჩიამ ჩაატარა სამეცნიერო ვორქშოფი თემაზე: Time-reversal Symmetry-breaking in Charge-ordered Kagome-lattice Systems Probed with Muon Spin Rotation.

ზურაბ გუგუჩია ქართველი მეცნიერია, რომელიც ამჟამად შვეიცარიაში მოღვაწეობს. კერძოდ, ის ხელმძღვანელობს კვანტური მოვლენების ჯგუფს პაულ შერერის ინსტიტუტში და კითხულობს ლექციებს ციურიხის უნივერსიტეტში. ასევე, ის არის მიწვეული მეცნიერი პრინსტონის უნივერსიტეტში. მისი კვლევის სფერო მოიცავს მაღალ ტემპერატურული ზეგამტარების, მაგნიტურ ნახევარგამტარების და ტოპოლოგიურად რთულ კვანტურ ნივთიერებების ფიზიკას. მისმა კვლევებმა და პუბლიკაციებმა ზეგამტარების, მაგნეტიზმისა და სხვა რამდენიმე თემაზე მოიპოვა მრავალი პრესტიჟული ჯილდო როგორც შვეიცარიაში, ასევე საქართველოში.

During the International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS 2024), held on August 5th at the Kakha Bendukidze Campus, Zurab Geguchia delivered a scientific workshop titled 'Time-reversal Symmetry-breaking in Charge-ordered Kagome-lattice Systems Probed with Muon Spin Rotation.'

Zurab Guguchia is a Georgian scientist working in Switzerland. He leads the "Emergent Quantum Phenomena in Layered Materials" group at the Paul Scherrer Institute. He also teaches at the University of Zurich and is a visiting scientist at Princeton University. He employs and further develops several experimental methods at large-scale facilities to construct, identify, and characterize unconventional/topological magnetic, superconducting, and charge-ordered phases of quantum matter in layered materials. His research and publications on superconductors, magnetism, and several other topics have earned him many prestigious prizes in Switzerland and Georgia.
